Sleep

Sleep is essential for humans. We power down to a minimum, refuel our batteries again. A new day can begin. A new trend is coming, the Asians already showed us how to do: working around the clock with a minimum of sleep. In our country it is called powernap, in Japan for example they say inemuri. The short sleep! Without sleep one doesn´t get by, so you look for niches of rest. „Only a short snooze, then it goes on!“. Previously, it´s name was „midday sleep“. The contrast to this: people were sleeping also at night at that time. The working world of today requires all-out commitment from us. Everything for the company! You have to prove yourself! The one or the other are the last ones in the office. When they go home, others already have a nightcap or are on their way to bed. Quite bad it is in the banking industry: Working even through the nights. Often until four o´clock in the morning, then hurry home, nap, at six o´clock the presentation already has to be completed again. How long are we able to stand the pace?! For a certain time. Adrenalin caused by sleep deprivation jacks us to maximum performance. Man is like drugged. Not infrequently, one begins to take such ones. And in the few hours of leisure time, it comes after months: the stroke or heart attack! More and more young people are affected. The digital world allows us to go without personal contacts. We can always be contacted, sometimes on vacation we download operational emails. Can we survive without personal contacts? Abandoning family is popular. Our society is one of singles. Personal freedom at the expense of society?! The question has to be faced by everyone. And it is getting urgent when we talk about old-age pension. A society without children has no more contributors.
