Protection of the Constitution
During a political discussion on the radio these days: DIE LINKE demands the abolition of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The fact that the party wants that, is not new. It is also true that the agency has failed concerning the murders, committed by the NSU. Now one can argue, that the red-red-and-green government with a Prime Minister of the party DIE LINKE, just elected in Thurigia, is already working on making the election result permanently watertight. One remembers the time after 1933 and after 1949 on the territory of the former GDR. The SED has threatened our constitution, the Basic Law. After the political change, party members of the NSDAP had proven themselves in democracy at that time, in large part they had become good democrats. Why shouldn´t it be the same with members of the political Left!? But the democracy of the Weimar Republic was a weak democracy. Therefore it is necessary to continue to protect our constitution against enemies. Conclusion: We must not abolish the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, we have to improve it!
Verfassungsschutz
Die Tage kam es bei einer politischen Diskussion im Radio: DIE LINKE fordert die Abschaffung des Verfassungsschutzes. Dass die Partei das möchte, ist nicht neu. Tatsache ist auch, dass der Geheimdienst bei den NSU-Morden versagt hat. Jetzt kann man natürlich argumentieren, kaum sei in Thüringen eine rot-rot-grüne Regierung gewählt mit einem Ministerpräsidenten der Partei DIE LINKE, arbeite man schon daran, das Wahlergebnis dauerhaft wasserdicht zu machen. Erinnerungen an die Zeit nach 1933 und nach 1949 auf dem Gebiet der ehemaligen DDR werden wach. Die SED hat unsere Verfassung, das Grundgesetz, bedroht. Nach der politischen Wende hatten sich damals aber Parteimitglieder der NSDAP in der Demokratie bewährt, sind zum Teil gute Demokraten geworden. Warum soll das bei Angehörigen der politischen Linken nicht so sein?! Aber die Demokratie der Weimarer Republik war eine schwache Demokratie. Es gilt also, unsere Verfassung weiterhin gegen Feinde zu schützen. Deshalb: Man darf den Verfassungsschutz nicht abschaffen, man muss ihn verbessern!
